Kedarnath , the divine abode of Lord Shiva is considered as one of the holiest destinations of Hindu Pilgrimage. It is one of the 12 Jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva. It is located in the lap of Himalayas at an astonishing altitude of 3584 meters above sea level near the Mandakini river It is the most remote of the 4 Char Dham sites and is flanked by breathtaking snow clad peaks of Garhwal range.
It is said that the temple came in existence when the Pandavas came in search of Lord Shiva to atone their sins. But Lord Shiva avoided them and stopped here in the form of a bull. It is said that the stone like structure that is worshipped there is the hump of the bull. The arms of the bull appeared at Tungnath, the face at Rudranath, the belly at Madhyamaheshwar and his hair locks with head at Kalpeshwar. Kedarnath and the 4 above mentioned shrines are treated as Panch Kedar. Although it sounds like the trip to Kedarnath is spiritual and is for elderly people, the trip is full of adventure. Worshipping before the Lord is never old school and Kedarnath Yatra will clear your mind and soul inside out and in turn will turn you into a pure hearted individual once again.

Overview

This itinerary presented to you by Oddessemania is fully loaded with a lot of fun, spirituality, thrills and chill. This yatra to Kedarnath starts from a journey at night from Delhi to Rishikesh. You get to worship and take a dip in holy Ganga at Haridwar. When you reach Rishikesh you can go for river rafting which is one the best thrilling activity which is worth the fun. Your next pit stop will be Sonprayag that you will reach after passing through holy Devprayag and Rudraprayag. Next day after arriving at Gaurikund, the actual trek of 18 km starts to Kedarnath temple.

The beauty of the Himalayas surrounded by glaciers and waterfalls is truly breathtaking. The evening “aarti” will cleanse your heart and fill it with positivity. After worshipping Lord Shiva you will come back to Sonprayag the next day. You will head out to the beautiful Chopta which is surrounded by pine trees of the alpine forests, deodar and rhododendron. The next morning awaits for a trek to the world’s highest Shiva temple, Tungnath. You can alos go for Chandrasila if you wish to. There is unmatchable beauty of the majestic Himalayas surrounding these places. It is an unforgettable and amazing trip that you will always be grateful for which will remain close to your heart.

Day 1 :

BOARDING AT DELHI & DRIVE TO RISHIKESH

Reporting venue is Kaushambhi Metro Station (Blue line), assemble at the boarding point by 10 pm and start your night journey towards Rishikesh.

Day 2 :

REACH RISHIKESH VIA HARIDWAR

*In Morning take a Pit Stop at Haridwar and spent some hours at Har Ki Pauri. You can also take a dip in Holy Ganga.
*After Breakfast (not included) we will move towards Rishikesh. Check-in at your Luxurious campsite, enjoy a swimming pool session if you want. After some time we will move towards River rafting point.
*Enjoy River Rafting if you want to do it (not included in the package). After rafting spend your day near Laxman Jhula. Get back to the campsite and enjoy the tasty Dinner

Day 3 :

DRIVE TO SONPRAYAG/GUPTAKASHI (265KM-12-14 HOURS DRIVE)

Early Morning check-out after Breakfast, enjoy the long ride by passing through Devprayag and Rudraprayag which continues till Sonprayag/Guptakashi, reach there by 5-6 pm, enjoy hot serve dinner and stay in the guest house.

Day 4 :

DRIVE TO GAURIKUND & TREK TO KEDARNATH (5KM DRIVE & 16KM TREK)

*We start early morning on this day (around 5 a.m.) from Sonprayag. Have breakfast and head towards Gaurikund.
* In Gaurikund there are hot water springs. You can enjoy that for a time being. From Gaurikund our actual trek begins which is approximately 18 km to Kedarnath temple.
*It’s a moderate level, high altitude trek that requires good physical fitness. Before the trek begins the physical fitness of every visitor is checked there. People having respiratory issues and high blood pressure must avoid this trek.
*Despite all the hardships, the beauty of this trek is astounding. This valley is surrounded by glaciers and waterfalls. In 5-6 hours i.e. at around 3 p.m. we shall reach Kedarnath Valley. Now we shall have our lunch and rest.
*In the evening we can attend the evening “Aarti” or prayer at the temple. The evening aarti lasts for one hour. Let your soul get drenched in the sacred vibes of prayers and let your spirituality take you to a different world of faith and divinity. It gets quite cold there at night. Overnight stay just near to the temple in a hotel on a sharing basis.

Day 5 :

DESCEND BACK & DRIVE TO CHOPTA (76KM-4HOURS)

*The next morning at 5 am the morning prayers begin. You can see the beautiful golden rays of the rising sun falling on the temple. We must stand in the queue for our turn to worship (for Darshan) and to offer the offering to Lord Shiva.
*Once we are done with morning prayer at the temple, we shall head back to Sonprayag . It will take around 6-7 hours for descending, reach Sonprayag by afternoon.
* After Lunch, we will start our drive towards Chopta , reach there by 7-8 pm. We will stay at a very beautiful campsite in Chopta.
*Chopta is an unspoiled raw beautiful destination lying in the lap of the Uttarakhand. It is located at an elevationof 2,680 meters (8,790 ft.) above sea level. Chopta village is surrounded by forests of pine, Deodar, and rhododendron and is rich in flora and fauna include rare species of birds and musk deer. We will camp here for a night. We will stay at night in Swiss tents.

Day 6 :

TREK TO TUNGNATH AND DRIVE TO DELHI (5 KM TREK & 40 KM DRIVE- 8-12 HOURS)

*We are going to wake up early in the morning and start our trek for a beautiful elevation to Tungnath. This is the world’s highest Shiva Temple. This is an easy 3.5 km trek. You will find clouds underneath you while you ascend to Temple.
* We will also plan for Chandshilla if the group is active and ready to trek more. There is endless and unmatchable beauty of the great Himalayas range surrounding this place. We shall return by 12 pm with an easy trek. We drive directly towards Delhi.

Day 7 :

REACH DELHI BY MORNING

Afterwards we shall bid adieu to this soul-nourishing journey to the Kedarnath visit and to each other from Delhi.
*We will reach by 11-12 pm in Delhi. This journey and this trek are going to change you and your inner self. This trek is going to fill us with immense peace, calm, and happiness as if lord Shiva has blessed us. All hail Lord Shiva.
