Beas Kund Trek - 5 Days

Why you should do Beas Kund Trek?

Beas kund, the name itself relate a connection to sage Beas. situated in the lap of Dhauladhar range, this trek is one of the most captivating and pleasing trek among all Himalayan treks. one get a closer view of some of the Himalayan mountain peaks such as Ladakhi peak, Hanuman Tibba and Sheti Dhar, along with the view of Pir Panjal peaks.

Standing over there, one get a strong sense of being closer to the source of the river in the valley below. The emerald kund divides into brooks and gushing waterfalls right until it joins with the Beas river. The Beas kund, like every river in India, that supports a community of people surronding it is soaked in folklore. It is said that Rishi Vyas, the author of Mahabharata, used to take his regular bath in this lake. it is believed that the name Beas is derived from the word Vyas  which means sage and Kund that refers to lake.

Beas kund has been a popular Himalayan trek. it is so because the water of the lake directly leads to the mouth of the Beas river that runs through the town. Think about a scenario where below the top of the Manali’s three largest mountains, the lush green pastures flourish. The emerald lake, from which the river Beas flows is also hidden in these grassland. The though f this beautiful environment is enough for trekkers to lure themselves to the large snowy summits, the greenery of the meadows and the lake. While tis trek is perfect for beginners, we recommend to prepare ahead of time. The conquest from about 8000 ft to over 12000 ft t the beginning of the trek is not an easy task.

Winters-
Trekking the Beas kund in winter is not at recommended. The trek to Beas kund can be misleading as it passes across a moraine that is filled with unsteady stones.
