As we all know the pandemic has wrecked havoc globally, the tourism sector has faced endless problems. There are curfews, lockdown and restrictions made by the Government where individuals must follow certain rules and regulations. It has brought a number of obstacles for the tourism industry, international flights got cancelled, many companies had to shut down permanently and many places of interests are closed for tourists. It has already been about a year and a half since the corona outbreak shook India but tourism continues to be one of the sectors hardest hit by the pandemic and the outlook remains highly uncertain. India is a developing country noted for its distinctive traditions, culture, and unmatched hospitality. It is a popular tourist hotspot for many international visitors, resulting in numerous job possibilities and significant tax revenue.
There was a pause in Oddessemania as well because there was nationwide lockdown last year along with a dozen other restrictions under the SOP. Standard Operation Procedure for covid 19 is updated often with stricter rules when there is a rise in the number of cases and deaths. Looking on the bright side one must agree to the fact that the introduction of vaccination against covid 19 can be helpful in this matter, not only for the health but also in the tourism sector.
Status after the outbreak
After India was struck with the pandemic outbreak in March 2020 nationwide lockdown was imposed with travel near impossible for a long time. Our trips and packages resumed in September which continued towards the end of the year. On January we were occupied with our resort which stands in Indo-Bhutan border which was named Oddesse Village. It is located in rural Assam in Baksa district at a scenic area called Bogamati. Covered with dense forests and hills at the mouth of river Barnadi this has emerged as a popular picnic spot for locals and visitors alike.
We continued our tours and activities in February and March this year as it was still safe but unfortunately we had to stop from April. Yes corona is back literally deadlier than last year, once again many restrictions have been instructed. We needed some incubation break to tackle with the situation as travelling has been totally stopped for the sake of this widespread deadly virus.
Let’s get back on track
It’s time we start doing things, our service that a large fraction of people are passionate about, travelling.
